Nearly 500 species of ants are social parasites, raiding the nests of other ant species and kidnapping their young to work in their colonies. A new study shows one such species, Formica aserva, can kidnap ants from at least 20 other ant species—even though some colonies don't kidnap other ants at all. [Read more]
