A condition known as rapid apple decline has afflicted orchards in several regions of the U.S. in recent years. A new study by researchers in North Carolina finds fungus-growing ambrosia beetles are often associated with rapid apple decline, but they do not appear to be a primary culprit driving the condition, and a variety of other factors are likely at play.
