Tiger beetles are big, fast, and hungry, and some have a taste for red imported fire ants. A new study shows a Cosmodela aurulenta tiger beetle could kill nearly 30 red imported fire ants per day, and the researchers behind the study are examining prospects for mass-rearing tiger beetles for use in efforts to manage the invasive ants.
