Plenty of insects are nocturnal, but few wasps are among them. In South Korea, Vespa binghami is one such rare nocturnal hornet, elusive and little researched, until now. A new study based on collected specimens and three nests observed with night-vision cameras finds Vespa binghami hornets' peak activity is just before midnight, and they prey mostly on moths.
