The Asian longhorned tick (Haemaphysalis longicornis) has been found in 19 states since its discovery in the U.S. in 2017. However, re-analysis of samples collected near New York City shows the invasive species was present in the state as early as 2014, and its numbers grew rapidly in the following years. [Read more]
