Crapemyrtle Aphid: A Cosmopolitan Pest of a Popular Ornamental Tree

Closeup overhead view of the underside of a green plant leaf on which are numerous aphids of various life stages. Nymphs are oval shaped and light translucent green with small black dots, and the nymphs vary in size. Adults are light translucent green, larger than the largest nymphs, and they have small red eyes and long wings folded back over their abdomen. The wings are clear with some smoky black markings.
