In light of COVID-19-related safety precautions, self-quarantine requirements, travel bans, and limitations on large gatherings, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) decided in late July to hold PestWorld 2020 as a virtual conference.
Originally scheduled to take place in Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 13-16, PestWorld 2020 will be held as originally scheduled — with keynote speakers, educational sessions and exhibitors — online instead of in-person.
Following the NPMA’s announcement, Pest Management Professional (PMP) decided to cancel the 2020 PMP Hall of Fame awards banquet and induction ceremony, which would have been held Oct. 12, on the eve of PestWorld.
As PMP Publisher and Editorial Director Marty Whitford said in our news release, “This was not a decision we took lightly… We will miss this wonderful evening and look forward to next year’s PMP Hall of Fame. Until we can meet again, may all in our pest control family stay safe and healthy.”
We will profile PMP Hall of Fame induction classes (1997-2019) in upcoming “The Buzz Online” enewsletters. For more information about the PMP Hall of Fame or to nominate a candidate, please visit PMPHallOfFame.net.
